In the next few lines of this tutorial we will show you how to actually handle successfully the upgrade process.

1) Install the Upgrade Module

For quite a while the updating process of the PrestaShop application is fully automated and the applications provides quite an easy to use module which will help the administrators to easily and most importantly successfully upgrade to the latest version.

Since the module is not installed by default the first thing you will need to do in the updating process is to install it. In order to do so you will need to login into the Back Office of your PrestaShop based Store and to access the Modules>Modules menu.

There you will need to find the updating module called “1-Click Upgrade – AutoUpgrade” and to respectively install the same on your Store.

Step 2 Configure and Initiate the Upgrading Process

Once the module is installed you will be taken to the configuration page of the module so you can configure it further before the actual upgrade.
